A9 is Amazon's proprietary search and ranking system. It was built to maximize Amazon's revenue, which means it promotes the listings most likely to convert browsers into buyers. Understanding this changes everything about how you should approach optimization.
You are not trying to impress an algorithm. You are trying to convince a buyer. The algorithm then follows the buyer's behavior and adjusts your ranking accordingly.

The two main ranking pillars
1. Relevance signals
Relevance signals tell Amazon what your product is and which search queries it should appear for. The primary relevance inputs are:

- Bullet points: Second in weight. Feature keywords and benefit-driven language go here.

- Conversion Rate (CVR): Of the buyers who visit your page, what percentage completes a purchase?
- Sales velocity: Unit sales in recent 7, 30, and 90-day windows.
